
The International Maritime Organization (IMO) will hold the 109th session of the Maritime Safety Committee (MSC 109) from 2 to 6 December 2024 at its headquarters in London. The meeting will be chaired by Mrs. Mayte Medina of the United States, with Capt. Theofilos Mozas of Greece serving as Vice-Chair. Cyber risk management is one of the key items on the agenda, reflecting the growing importance of protecting digital systems used in ship operations and shore-based activities. The discussions aim to strengthen existing frameworks and develop effective measures to mitigate cyber threats in the maritime industry. MSC 109 will bring together maritime stakeholders to address these critical topics, shaping future regulations and enhancing the overall safety and security of maritime operations.
