
NATO Shipping Center (NCS) has advised of concerns regarding Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) and Automatic Identification System (AIS) interference in the Eastern Mediterranean, and requested additional reporting from merchant ships which experience such interference in the region.
The NCS notification includes a request for additional voluntary reporting from merchant ships operating or transiting the Eastern Medirerranean. The report will assist the NATO Allied Command (NATO MARCOM) determine the extend of interference in the region, and assess the impact on maritime operations, including shipping.
