
The Maritime Hacking Village (MHV) will be featured at DEF CON 33, the world’s leading hacking and information security event, taking place from August 8–10, 2025, in Las Vegas, NV. This special village will focus on cybersecurity challenges in the maritime sector, bringing together industry professionals and cybersecurity enthusiasts.
This year’s MHV production will showcase real-world maritime and port operational technology through live hacking and exploitation sessions, expert talks and demonstrations, and a globally competitive maritime Capture-the-Flag (CTF) competition. Attendees will also have the opportunity to participate in tabletop exercises and other engaging activities.
Topics to be covered include:
- Ship and port network security;
- Cyber-physical systems (CPS);
- Autonomous vessels and systems;
- Navigation systems;
- Maritime Internet of Things (MIoT);
- Cybersecurity insurance.
Speakers can apply to deliver 25- or 50-minute sessions, either individually or as part of a panel. Accepted speakers will receive an exclusive MHV speaker t-shirt and additional MHV swag.
