ABS Approved Hanwha Ocean’s New OT Cybersecurity Solution

Hanwha Ocean has received Approval in Principle (AIP) from the American Bureau of Shipping (ABS) for its newly developed Operational Technology (OT) cybersecurity solution designed specifically for Floating Production Storage and Offloading (FPSO) units. The solution aims to protect critical infrastructure and enhance cyber resilience on board offshore assets.

Developed in collaboration with SIGA Data Security, the OT cybersecurity solution is tailored to defend vital OT systems against cyber threats. ABS completed a thorough design review to ensure compliance with class and statutory requirements.

The cybersecurity innovation is part of a broader multi-year Offshore Technology Collaboration Agreement between ABS and Hanwha Ocean. This partnership focuses on pioneering projects that integrate sustainability, digitalization, artificial intelligence, and OT cybersecurity—leveraging both organizations’ strengths to address offshore energy sector challenges.
